Spokane Mesothelioma Lawyer

A mesothelioma diagnosis can completely change a person and their family’s lives. This aggressive form of cancer presents many challenges: it’s fast-acting, difficult to detect in early stages, and the treatment is focused on prolonging life and pain management as there is no cure. When this diagnosis is given, you may wonder how it could have happened. Mesothelioma develops decades after asbestos exposure.

Asbestos was once a popular substance used in manufacturing, construction, and many other industries. Those who worked in these industries were likely breathing in the asbestos fibers and didn’t know the debilitating health dangers they could suffer from in the future.

While the future can be uncertain, mesothelioma victims and their families do have the ability to explore their legal options. A Spokane mesothelioma lawyer from Frost Law Firm, PC can help you get justice. We’re here to make your voices heard.

A Spokane Mesothelioma Lawyer Can Help You

When you or a loved one is fighting mesothelioma, you’re likely dealing with much more than worrying about a legal claim. The toll of knowing you or a family member has an incurable cancer is devastating and filing a claim can seem like a lot to add to your responsibilities. That’s where a mesothelioma lawyer in Spokane can help.

When we’re representing you, we’ll find out how the asbestos exposure that caused the diagnosis occurred. We’ll identify the company responsible for the asbestos exposure and we’ll gather evidence to hold them accountable.

Then, your attorney will assess the losses of this illness. Looking at medical expenses from the past and what will incur in the future, lost wages, and loss of earnings are all major financial losses that mesothelioma victims and their families may deal with. We’ll fight for your compensation to cover these losses so you can focus on treatment and being with family.

There are also the emotional consequences of a diagnosis. Mesothelioma can cause painful symptoms every day. We can seek compensation for your pain and suffering, and the emotional anguish of the situation.

We’ll be here to answer your questions and be with you at every step of the legal process. Our lawyers will fight hard for you and your family’s financial future.

Vermiculite Northwest Facility

This facility is located in Spokane and processed vermiculite ore from Libby, Montana from 1940-1974. It stopped because the ore was contaminated with asbestos. During the ore processing, it was heated until the substance popped, cooled down, and then workers would put the product into bags. This material could have been used for insulation. However, since it was contaminated with asbestos and the process created a lot of dust, it’s likely that workers were exposed to high asbestos levels.

The EPA continued to do studies to see if the area was dangerous. In 2000 and 2001, they found asbestos fibers in the soil at the facility and at properties surrounding it. While they completed building removal and soil testing was finished in 2007, there were recent tests that indicated there were still traces of asbestos in the soil. Spokane County has fenced off the site and covered the most contaminated soil with asphalt. The asphalt will prevent the asbestos from being disturbed and becoming more of a threat to the environment and those around it. It could become a health hazard if the land is disturbed.

Our Experience Is Personal

Scott L. Frost’s Family Experience with Lung Cancer

For most of his life, Scott L. Frost’s father, who was in the construction industry, worked with and sold products containing asbestos without knowing the materials were dangerous. He was diagnosed with lung cancer 40 years after starting his career, leading Scott’s family to fight like they had never fought before.

Pictured here with his wife of over 50 years, Scott’s father eventually succumbed to the cancer. Since then, Scott has made it his mission to do everything in his power to make sure corporations understand how dangerous asbestos is and prevent future generations from suffering as his family did, as well as support research that may lead to finding a cure.
