Scott Frost shares his insights from our newsletter:
Over the past week, a lot of families have been coming back from spring break.
Suitcases half-unpacked.
Laundry piling up.
Kids adjusting back to early alarms after a week of later nights.
If you have children at home, you probably know the feeling.
Getting back into the normal rhythm of work can take a little adjustment. In fact, some
productivity experts say the shift from vacation mode back to work works best when people ease into it intentionally.
But in a trial lawyer’s world, easing into things usually isn’t an option.
While many families were unpacking bags or settling back in at home, we were often doing something else entirely.
Preparing for trial.
That preparation can mean long days reviewing documents, organizing exhibits, and running through witness testimony late into the evening.
Because once a trial starts, there are no do-overs.
Every question matters.
Every detail matters.
Every decision matters.
It’s the kind of work most people never see.
But it’s also the work that makes the biggest difference when you finally step into the courtroom.
What helps you get back into the swing of things after a vacation? I’d be curious to hear what works for you.
